Rienzi was named for Cola di Rienzo, a medieval Italian politician. The original town was settled in 1830 and was located one mile west of its current location. The town has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km²), all land. Corinth lies to the north, Booneville, and Glen lie to the south. Rienzi is served by the Alcorn School District. Jamie Davis, Lee Denson, Billy McCoy, and Bill Michael are among the town's notable residents. The population was 317 at the 2010 census, up from 330 at the 2000 census. The median income for a household in the town was $26,563, and the median family income was $31,375. History
Rienzi was named for Cola di Rienzo, a medieval Italian politician. The original town was settled in 1830 and was located one mile west of its current location. It was located near the Nesly Williams Plantation. The town is now located in the town of Rienzi, in the province of Piedmont, northern Italy. It has a population of about 2,000 people. It is located on the banks of the River Rienzia, about one mile from the town's current location, and is about two miles west of the village of Rianzia in the Province of Piacenza, north-east of the city of Piazza delle Grazie, north of the Italian city of Turin.
